These are preliminary drawings meant to guide me in my paintings. Many are complete unto themselves. Others are just scribble-like concepts. Except for the obvious few, all are drawn directly from life.
Drawing is important to me, as it helps me to explore direction and develop composition.
This portfolio does not exist as presented. Some drawings are executed directly on the paintings surfaces. Resisting the urge to erase, I leave these exposed in my watercolors. Only traces of them can be seen in my oil paintings.
